About Woodways
Fiveways Insurance Group, a family owned and managed full service insurance broker which offers a full range of insurances from their offices in Shropshire and Staffordshire and has done since 1967, has launched Woodways Woodland Insurance and already has a specialist portfolio of more than 1,250 policyholders.
Woodways is the third brand within the independently owned insurance group after the launch of Greenways Insurance for electric vehicle owners in 2016.
Woodways Woodland Insurance is a new division within Fiveways, dedicated to protecting Woodland Owners.
With our own scheme designed with you at the heart of it, Woodways provides the specialist advice on the insurances required as Woodland Owners.
Who are we
As a business we are passionate about protecting the things that you are passionate about.
That is why we were delighted to be asked to take over the Woodland scheme that had previously been arranged by RAP Ltd, to ensure all woodland owners continued to be protected. We have established our own scheme in conjunction with a specialist in countryside insurances, to ensure that you as woodland owners remain properly and fully protected.
Woodland Insurance Specialists
Woodways Insurance aims to protect woodland owners against claims for negligence leading to damage or injury that may occur to third parties, or their property within or bordering a woodland.
We have the knowledge and expertise available to us to provide you with all the covers that you might require.
The scheme caters for all woodlands in the UK, up to 150 hectares in size, for anyone who owns a woodland for their own private enjoyment.
We are so excited to see the scheme develop and evolve. Whilst the policy initially provides Public Liability (£5m) and Legal Expenses (£100,000), we do have plans to develop and grow the scheme in consultation with our members. One such area is now having the option to include Employers’ Liability cover for any private individual woodland owner.

What we can’t cover
Whilst we would like to be able to offer cover to all woodland owners, there are some circumstances where we are not able to offer cover:
- Commercial activities
- Fire or Windthrow cover
- Ash die back diseased woodlands
